HAPPY LEAP YEAR 2012
Happy Leap Day 2012. I’ve decided that our first writing prompt today should have something to with Leap Day. Today, I am giving you two choices to write about since Leap Year only happens every four years.
Write about someone you know or imagine a person that is born on leap day and the effect(s) it has on their life. Do they only celebrate their birthday every four years? Do they not care about the leap day at all?
Do you have a favorite leap year memory from past years? Remember to include your six senses in your writing. Let us feel what you felt at the time.
Please feel free to share your posts and or any ideas this prompt created for you. Happy writing everyone.
Hello and welcome to WRITING PROMPTS EVERY DAY. I have been a writer for most of my life, starting when I was about 9 years old. I love the feeling I get when I create a new story, article, chapter, poem, actually anything. It creates a rush to my senses as I hope it does yours.
I love starting off my writing day with a prompt; something to get the creative juices flowing. The key to writing with a prompt is to just let go. Read the prompt, set a time limit for yourself. I suggest 15 to 20 minutes. Next just start writing. Write whatever comes into your mind, even if it doesn’t make sense to you at the time. I like to also use my “senses”, sight, smell, taste, feel, hearing, when writing from a prompt. Whatever you create in that time frame is okay, do not judge yourself. Also, I forgot to mention that your writing can take any form you wish it to take. It can be non-fiction, fiction, poetry…anything you feel as you write. Happy writing today
I hope that you will enjoy my prompts and pass this site along to your fellow writers and friends. Also feel free to post what you have written, or any suggestions you may have for me and the blog. Happy writing to you all.
